Just a few of the many emails we receive:

Thank you so much for Church Power Point! It has made my job SOO much easier! Our church has two services -- a "traditional" and a "contemporary." We rely on Power Point for the contemporary service, and your site has been such a wonderful resource. I am so grateful for your ministry. --

Since we discovered your website our presentations on Sundays at Orpington Methodist Church are so much better and we have had many compliments on the improved style and variety, so we are very grateful for everything that you provide.  Thank you so much. Jan

I just want to thank you so much for the wonderful service you provide by means of the images. I prepare most of the presentations for our church, a catholic church outside Sydney, Australia. So often I get comments such as 'wonderful images', so thanks.  The Gallery is wonderful and I haven't fully explored it yet.

Have a very happy and holy Christmas, and may you be blessed in the New Year with many graces from our God.
God bless,

Think About It is just what I needed to get a fresh outlook on the text.  It's even more than that.  It brings into focus what our ministry should be all about.  Thanks.  Rev. William Smith California

When I am looking for an image for a new program or special announcement, I can always find it on Gallery.  It is the best buy on the internet for the worship needs of a church.  I'm so grateful for all you do. I am not only the pastor, I also handle all the powerpoint for our service.
Rev. John Fisher

I just wanted to express my appreciation for the PowerPoint slides you provide.  It's really tough for a church that operates on a very tight budget - like the one I attend - to be able to provide much more that just generic backgrounds.   Thank you and may God bless your ministry.

I just wanted to thank you for your ministry in this effort.  We are a small church and we are focusing on the needs of the homeless in N Fort Myers.  These PowerPoint masters will help in that, and I can’t tell you how much I appreciate them.   They are wonderful!   God Bless You!

Thank you for making the images available.  I prepare the power point slides for our worship service and it has been so helpful. I know that it takes a long time to come up with the right images for each Sunday.  Many thanks and blessings to you.

While in seminary I worked emergency on weekends as a chaplain at a major hospital in Boston. I was called upon to see many a patient whose death was imminent and surprised that the vast majority of them voiced a critical need for forgiveness. But then, think about it, nearly everyone has been hurt by the actions or words of another. And I was talking to the people who were responsible for the hurting.

Most of the patients were active, practicing Christians.  It truly is so sad that Christians do not accept the fact that their faith offers them the possibility of complete forgiveness.  Since so many were so desperately in need, I wonder how many pastors have REALLY preached on this topic.  Have you?  It is so important and according to my limited research, a very vital message to the life and peaceful death of every member of your church.

  • At one service, I asked that two pebbles be given to each person entering the sanctuary.  During the sermon, they were asked to consider the greatest hurt they caused another person ….and also the greatest hurt another caused them.  After a sufficient period of silence, they were asked to come forward….first to drop the pebble that represented the harm they had caused, asking God to forgive them, into one of two bowls filled with water.  Then to drop the pebble that represented the harm someone did to them into the other bowl, and, if able, to forgive them in their hearts.  I was told it was unbelievably powerful by many a member.

  • You might begin by asking your congregation to consider admitting the wrong they have done to God, as well as to those they've harmed, making reparation if possible.  Although they can’t force anyone to forgive them, simply acknowledging their faults and admitting their mistakes can offer them some peace.
Forgiveness plays a vital role in one’s life here on earth:  Your husband or wife had an affair.  Your parents were terrible role models.  Your child set about to destroy every moral code you hold dear.  Your best friend betrayed you.  Feelings of bitterness, anger, depression, perhaps vengeance, could consume your life if you don’t practice forgiveness.  Then they are the one who pays most dearly.

  • Corrie Ten Boom, a Christian woman who survived a Nazi concentration camp during the Holocaust,  realized how vital offering  forgiveness means, "Forgiveness is to set a prisoner free, and to realize the prisoner was you."

But, and this is the big but............we need to emphasize that God’s forgiveness is weighed down with conditions.  The New Testament is filled with texts in this regard:

Luke 6:37

  • Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.

In other words, we can’t expect to be forgiven…….UNTIL we forgive.

Now, today’s parable emphasizes forgiveness.  As a stipulation to salvation, it certainly appears to be an extremely important topic. Seize the opportunity.

Matthew 6:14-16

  • For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

Matthew 18:21-22

  • Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, "Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me? Up to seven times?" Jesus answered, "I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.

Tyler Perry discusses forgiveness on Dr. Phil.

Mark 11:25

  • And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.

  • And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God in Christ forgave you.

Beautiful video:  The Lord’s Prayer……forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us……

We need to emphasize:…..When someone they care about hurts them, they can hold on to anger, resentment and thoughts of revenge — or embrace forgiveness and move forward.  The act will always remain a part of their life, but forgiveness can lessen its grip on them and help them focus on other, positive parts of your life. Forgiveness can even lead to feelings of understanding, empathy and compassion for the one who hurt them.

  • I found when it seems almost impossible to forgive someone, I ask for the grace to be able to pray for them.  And when I integrate prayer for the person who harmed me into my daily life, forgiveness becomes possible.  I found that forgiveness doesn't mean that you deny the other person's responsibility for hurting you, and it doesn't minimize or justify the wrong. But you can forgive the person without excusing the act. Forgiveness brings a kind of peace that helps one go on with life.

  • Keep in mind that forgiveness has the potential to increase their sense of integrity, peace and overall well-being. And brings with it the guarantee of forgiveness for those sins against others that we have committed. It is just that important.......

Use those two examples in today’s gospel: The son asks for forgiveness.  The father forgives and the brother doesn’t.

Without forgiveness, Jesus tells us …….we are lost.
Think about it!
