What if 2012 predictions are true? But they aren’t the actual end of the world, but the year that it became too late to reverse the cataclysmic effects of global warming which would eventually lead to the end of our world? What if……..

This video offers a recap of what global warming is all about…

This is the National Georgraphic’s video of what just a 5 degree increase would mean to us. Since we have experienced an increase of more than 1 degree so far, it is worth watching. View the consequences of every degree increase being offered.

In each major religion, our planet plays a part in their end of the world scenario. Again, consider our text today in relationship to global warming. Then see these videos:

Research, conducted by MIT and published in the American Meteorological Society's JOURNAL OF CLIMATE predicts a median probability that worldwide surface temperatures will RISE 5.2 degrees Celsius (9 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT) by the year 2100.
Just one example of what is happening now.:

Well, what about those people who claim that global warming is nonsense…….
I want you to consider what it means to the profits of the corporations that are supplying our energy now…..oil, gas, coal…….if they are made to clean up their industry OR if alternatives are proposed and acted upon replacing their products! Greed is a great motivator to alter the truth.
Discussing the critical decision to choose less dependence on oil for energy conservation and the sacrifice it may entail, Wendell Berry said, “The most alarming sign of the state of our society now is that our leaders have the courage to sacrifice the lives of our young people in war, but have not the courage to tell us that we must be less greedy and less wasteful.”
If you believe in God’s judgment, wouldn’t a responsible sermon stress how we will be judged by how well we have cared for our planet? Our God not only commanded us to love each other, but also to take care of our planet.
The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. -Genesis 2:15
If you have watched the videos, you must realize that the time to act is now; our continued silence in our churches could make matters much worst. Since we Christians claim to believe in the Creator God, shouldn’t we, more than anyone else, show the most concern about creation…..about the environment.
Don’t you have a responsibility to preach on this topic. Our earth was once a garden of fresh air, fresh food and fresh water. Look where we are headed! Think About It.
