Dear Friends,

Having served a number of churches as a United Methodist pastor, it eventually became quite apparent that we needed to integrate multimedia into our Sunday Service in order to reach the younger generation.
It is just that significant church experts urge if you wish to survive into the next generation!

Any hesitation introducing powerpoint to the service disappeared when even the older generation became enthusiastic.  Overwhelmingly, all ages claimed the scripture came alive, the sermon became more meaningful, the words to the hymns were so much easier to follow……..

Before I entered seminary, Andover Newton Theological School in Boston, I was a designer for several prestigious firms.... ultimately owning my own firm.  So I loved the creativity of interpreting the scripture visually as a minister.  H
owever, the many, many hours required to produce quality images were often prohibitive for this busy pastor.  Therefore, upon my retirement, I decided to offer, without charge as a ministry, powerpoint images for each Sunday’s liturgy based on the lectionary to missionaries, students and small struggling churches.

It seems unbelievable, but we are in the third year of CHURCH PowerPoint with churches from approximately 200 countries now using CHURCH PowerPoint designs.  And so many changes have taken place.

Many subscribers filled out a recent survey and, as a result, many of the requests have been implemented: CHURCH PowerPoint remains a free resource with its lectionary related images, the Think About It feature that relates the scripture to current events, as well as the Sermon of the Week.

  • I  am  so  grateful  to  all  the pastors and professors who have offered their sermons for our new feature, Sermon of the Week.
  • And I am especially thankful for all your suggestions.  You are responsible for all the changes that are taking place on the site.
  •  The most recent change introduces a totally new website, CHURCH galleries:  http://www.churchgalleries.com

    Click on:  CHURCH galleries
It offers thousands of images, an annual and monthly subscription, a great search feature, and the ability to buy and sell individual images.

    • Think About It will soon  become a blog....a place where you can add your own comments on the text as it relates to current issue being discussed.
    • Sermon of the Week will be open to all of you to submit your sermons for selection as the feature.  The sermon selected will receive a free month's subscription to CHURCH galleries.
    • And we will eventually be changing the format of these pages again...to make it easier to manage all the images and other features each week..
    • Please continue to offer your comments and suggestions.  They really are appreciated.

When I started this site, I offered my work as a ministry to all those struggling churches and missionaries who can ill afford any additional costs for their multi media.  This goal remains.......but I do ask all those churches, who can afford to do so, to please offer a donation....$25, $50..... whatever.  It would be very appreciated.

It is only with your help that I am able to maintain CHURCH PowerPoint.

    Blessings,

    Rev. Dorothy Okray
